WARRANTY – SCISSORS
PROFESSIONAL USE & MAINTENANCE
Professional scissors require regular cleaning, lubrication, adjustment, and correct handling to maintain optimal cutting performance, balance, and longevity.
Failure to maintain the scissors properly may affect performance, cutting precision, corrosion resistance, and overall durability.
WHAT THE WARRANTY COVERS
HH Simonsen’s warranty covers documented manufacturing or material defects affecting the structural functionality of the scissors under normal professional use.
This includes:
- Original manufacturing defects in steel, assembly, or craftsmanship.
- Structural defects affecting normal cutting performance.
- Mechanical defects in screws, handles, or permanent assembly points under intended professional use.
- Surface defects that can be documented as present before the scissors were first used.
As all HH Simonsen scissors are handcrafted and serviceable, warranty claims are handled through repair, adjustment, replacement of spare parts, or restoration of the scissors rather than replacement with a new pair.
Any manufacturing defect or irregularity must be reported immediately upon first use and no later than the same day the scissors are first used professionally.
Claims reported after extended use cannot be validated as original manufacturing defects.
If valid proof of purchase cannot be provided, the warranty period will begin 90 days after the product’s manufacturing date according to HH Simonsen’s internal records.
WHAT THE WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER
The warranty does not cover faults, damage, or performance issues caused by:
IMPROPER USE OR MAINTENANCE
- Lack of regular cleaning, lubrication, or adjustment.
- Incorrect tension settings or improper handling.
- Use outside intended professional hair cutting application.
- Cutting materials other than human hair.
- Exposure to humidity, liquids, chemicals, disinfectants, bleach, or aggressive cleaning products.
- Corrosion, oxidation, or rust caused by insufficient maintenance or improper storage.
EXTERNAL DAMAGE OR NORMAL WEAR
- Damage caused by drops, impacts, pressure, or external force.
- Cosmetic wear resulting from normal professional use.
- Minor scratches, fading, or surface wear from daily handling.
- Natural wear of cutting edges due to professional usage.
- Gradual loosening of screw systems requiring normal adjustment and servicing.
Professional salon environments may accelerate normal cosmetic and mechanical wear compared to private consumer use.
RUST & CORROSION
Professional hairdressing scissors manufactured from high-quality steel require regular care and maintenance.
Rust, oxidation, or corrosion is not considered a manufacturing defect and is therefore not covered under warranty, as these conditions develop after purchase due to environmental exposure, moisture, chemicals, insufficient lubrication, or improper maintenance.
INSPECTION & VALIDATION
All warranty claims are subject to technical inspection, testing, and validation by HH Simonsen or an authorized service partner.
Perceived cutting differences, normal wear of cutting edges, or performance variations caused by maintenance condition are not considered manufacturing defects.
SERVICE & REPAIR
HH Simonsen reserves the right to repair, restore, replace spare parts, sharpen, adjust, or service the scissors rather than replacing the complete product.
AUTHENTIC PRODUCTS
The warranty applies exclusively to products purchased directly from HH Simonsen or through an authorized HH Simonsen retailer or distributor.
HH Simonsen cannot guarantee product authenticity, quality, or safety when products are purchased through unauthorized sellers.
ADDITIONAL TERMS
Service, sharpening, replacement of spare parts, or repairs performed under warranty do not extend the original warranty period.
WARRANTY CLAIM PROCESS
All warranty claims must be submitted through the official distributor in the customer’s country or region whenever possible.
If no official distributor is available, the scissors must be sent directly to the HH Simonsen warehouse.
Shipping costs to HH Simonsen are the responsibility of the customer.
All warranty claims must include valid proof of purchase clearly showing the purchase date and product information. The proof of purchase must confirm that the product is within the applicable warranty period.
If the warranty claim is approved, HH Simonsen will repair, restore, or service the scissors according to our professional service standards.
If the warranty claim is not approved, the scissors can be returned to the customer upon prepayment of the return shipping costs.
HH Simonsen reserves the right to perform technical inspection, testing, and validation before approving or rejecting any warranty claim.
